Infinite Films
Flipside
September was a landmark month for Infinite Films. The first movie we’ve been involved with, Flipside, premiered at The Toronto International Film Festival.
Directed by Chris Wilcha, co-executive produced by our CEO Jim O’Shaughnessy and Knocked Up director Judd Apatow, and released in association with Infinite Films, Apatow Productions and Park Pictures, Flipside offers a raw look into the often tumultuous journey of a creator.
Our Head of Media, Michael Graham Richards, attended the screening and couldn’t have been more impressed: “Chris Wilcha has interwoven multiple of his film projects created over decades and somehow assembled them into a coherent whole. The central thread of his own life connects it all together—you have to see for yourself how he is able to successfully land the plane despite the high level of difficulty of what he’s doing here!”
Critics agree. IndieWire awarded it a rare ‘A’ grade, while Sean Boelman from Disappointment Media praised it as “wonderfully poignant.” Brian Farvour from The Playlist described it as “a leap forward in the documentary genre.”
Discussions around the film’s wider release are ongoing. Watch this space!
Next-Gen Filmmaking Competition
One of our operating beliefs at OSV is that technological developments are unbundling ideas from execution.
Over August and September, we held a “next-gen filmmaking” competition to showcase how technological advancements are unleashing a new wave of creativity upon the world. Participants were required to submit a video of up to 5 minutes using any form of next-generation technology.
Amid some exceptional entries, our judging panel landed on three winning films, created by Milan Cucuk, Jeff Synthesized, and Mehmet Aldis, who won $5,000, $2,000, and $1,000, respectively.
To watch the winning entries, check out our Substack.
Future Projects
We have several other exciting Infinite Films projects in the pipeline - but we’re not ready to spoil the surprise just yet… Rest assured, they will be worth the wait!
